      System Info:
      3B+
      64GB card
      Recommended power supply
      Cooling fan
      Xbox controller USB
      USB Keyboard and Mouse

I used the RetroPie_Setup script to upgrade from source my core and main packages this weekend which included lr-fbalpha. Before the upgrade Neo Geo CD games worked fine. Now they start, you see the spinning disk but then it fails. I launched one with verbose logging turned on and the only error I see in my runcommand.log files is as follows:

      /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 1012: 3271 Segmentation fault

      Regular NeoGeo games work fine.

      Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

@Oldguy Looks like a ROM changed and it's not working - or the BIOS changed. What game are you running ? Can you get a detailed log by toggling Run with Verbose Logging in the Runcommand launch menu ? It should add more info in the runcommand.log - post it on pastebin.com.

Rally Chase CD is the game and I did have verbose on but only cut out the small part with the error message. It worked fine before I updated all the various core and main packages from source. It tries to run them but fails with that segmentation fault error. What other data would you want to see from the runcommand.log. It fails on any CD game that use to work before the upgrade and the only difference is the number before the segmentation fault. Below is the last line of the runcommand.log for another game:
          /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 1012: 3758 Segmentation fault /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-fbalpha/fbalpha_libretro.so --subsystem neocd --config /opt/retropie/configs/neogeo/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/neogeo/Metal Slug (World).cue" --verbose --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

My runcommand.log before this error shows not errors and just lists a bunch of status items and settings.

Let me know if I can give more detail that would help. I can also send the runcommand.log if it helps. Not sure how to do that.

          Thanks

@Oldguy I would need the entire /dev/shm/runcommand.log from the Verbose logging launch of the game, not just the last line. Copy the file to the ROMs folder and pick it up from there (via File Shares), then upload it to pastebin.com

            cp /dev/shm/runcommand.log $HOME/RetroPie/roms

@Oldguy ngcd support in fbalpha was basically rewritten from scratch in january, it's now only accepting DAO (disc at once, i.e data+sound is in the same file) dumps.
My recommendation is to follow this tutorial to convert your non-DAO images :

              • Get CDMage 1.02.1 from https://www.videohelp.com/software/CDMage (freeware & no ads)
              • File > Open > select your iso (NB : for multi-track, select the .cue file, not the .iso file)
              • File > Save As > write the name of your new file
              • Make sure you select MODE1/2352 in the second drop-down
              • Press OK, wait for the process to finish (a few seconds on my computer), and it’s done !

@ExarKunIv said in NeoGeo CD no longer working after upgrade from source for core and main packages:

That setup does not use lr-fbalpha, but a different emulator.

@mitu I know. And neither are working for me. I'm not picky so as long as something will work I'm good.

So I will be using that. Since that at least starts to do something before quitting and going back to the game list.

Not being in the correct format might be my problem with that
