I've recently installed retropie on a raspberry pi 3 B+. I'm using mame2003 with 0.78 romsets. I have about 80 arcade games installed but I'm having problems setting up controls in Pole Position and Lunar Lander.
      I'm using a wireless xbox 360 controller.
The tab key doesn't register in these games, but does in all of the others.
Other keyboard keys also work in these games - just not tab.

I've been searching the forums and the net in general but haven't found why only a couple of games would be affected.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

@kongbeast you may have previously somehow unbound/rebound it in those games via the TAB menu.

you can try looking in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro (or arcade, depending how you're set up)/mame2003/cfg/- if you see any .cfg files with the names of these games, you can try deleting them. that should mean the tab key springs back to life.

@dankcusions thanks for taking the time to reply. I removed the game .cfg files from under .../mame2003/cfg but still not getting the tab menu in these games.
