RetroPie 0/1 Image Size

@KN4THX im going to attempt to burn it to a 8gb micro SD right now and i’ll post a picture of what the files are on the SD card. To be honest I have had problems burning recently but that was with a custom image for a Pocket PiGRRL. Every time a burned the image to the card using etcher the SD card became formatted in FAT16 when it was FAT32 prior. My hope is that it is because of a custom image, hopefully the official OS works and then I can manually configure from there. I’ll be back soon with an update the help is much needed, any chance you have knowledge of circuits? I’m lost with wiring up this device as well.

@KN4THX the $14 universal wire charger on adafruit, to a powerboost 1000c also sold by adafruit. I’m trying to add wireless charging to a pocket PiGRRL.

@KN4THX also RetroPie 0/1 is downloading 812.8 mb on my Mac, so I’m going to see in the checksums match, they should correct?

@mongo64 Apple and Microsoft calculate file sizes differently so just burn it and plug it in :)

@KN4THX nothing but a no single and a solid red light on my Raspberry Pi 1 A+. Damn, had a feeling this would happen I had a bunch of files of the SD card after burning and it was FAT16.

@mongo64 The boot partition is always FAT16 on the Pi. This is normal. Hate to ask, but are you downloading/burning the proper image for your Pi version? Are you sure your Pi is still good? Can you still try the old sd card?

@KN4THX I believe I am biting the proper image, I’m burning the RetroPie 0/1 image onto a micro SD and putting it in my Raspberry Pi 1 A+ 512mb (2016 model I believe) from element 14.

@mitu what have I done wrong master? You have helped me in the past I know you can be my savior once more as I embark down this programing journey that is most likely way too over my head!

@mongo64 Verify that the image is correct using md5 from the macOS terminal:

md5 retropie-4.5-rpi1_zero.img.gz

and compare the checksum you get with the one on the website. Try using ApplePI Baker to write the image. Failing that, try using a Raspbian Lite image and see if that boots - https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_lite/images/raspbian_lite-2019-04-09/2019-04-08-raspbian-stretch-lite.zip - you can then install RetroPie manually (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/).

@mitu the md5 checksum does match my retropie-4.5-rpi1_zero.img.gz file. This is not the same checksum I get when I run the .img though, Is this correct/normal? Should I just try writing the .img.gz file to my SD card instead of extracting it?
