    Hi,
    Tried to follow http://blog.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/multi-tap-support/#post-95739 by adding
    input_libretro_device_p2 = “257”
    at the end of retroarch.cfg but it didn't work for me.
    I can see the pads beeing detected when running the game.
    I can see I'm running lr-snes9x-next:
    pi 4274 4215 60 14:14 tty1 00:01:56 /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-snes9x-next/snes9x2010_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/snes/retroarch.cfg /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/divers/Super Bomberman 5 (J).smc --appendconfig /tmp/retroarch.cfg

    Anyone has an idea how to get it to work ?

        which retroarch.cfg did you change? could you paste the entire contents of it? I ask because it looks like you're using the wrong quote punctuation. should be "257" not “257”

          Good catch @dankcushions, that fixed my problem.
          Thanks for your help guys !

          ps: Is there a reason retropie doesn't configure this by default ?

            @franck some games are incompatible. possibly all non-multitap games. see http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Super_Multitap

              @dankcushions Interesting, maybe some automatic trigger based on the rom names would do the trick then...

                I didn't know what a multitap is.
                Is it just an adapter to plug 4 controllers to the SNES?
                Isn't RetroArch smart enough to detect 4 USB controllers?

                  did you read the wiki entry above? anyway, yes :)

                  yes but SNES games aren't. if you get an old SNES and plug in 1/2/4 controllers to a multitap, any games that don't support the multitap won't be playable. see the wiki for more details.

                  so, you can't leave this "hi SNES, there is a multitap connected" setting on for all games.

                    @dankcushions
                    I found it strange because I'm used to play super bomberman with 4 players and I don't even know it.
                    Finally I found a good reason to use ROM specific .cfg file.
                    Thanks for the info!

                      I'm trying to do this also, but its currently not working... What sort of Retropie version are you on @franck ? Does it work with the latest?
