Ive just finished building a 32gb image for my friends and realized ive crammed so much into it i only have 6.5mbs free I want to have some free space for save games and savestates for them. Gonna clean some stuff and was thinking a min of 100-200mbs would be good. Would you guys recommend to leave for spare room for saves on a completed build?

the more free space the better (faster) it will be. Just how it all works. Save files vary by size but are normally in kilobytes (1024 kb is 1 megabyte (mb) and 1 Gb is 1024 Mb) sooo.. I would assume you are safe there. But nothing more to say on that honestly.

People want things easy...but then complain that life is boring...

@RetroSavior If your free space is below 5% of partition capacity, you'll not be able to save anything - the OS reserves 5% for the root user, so it's unusable for regular users.
