      Hi there guys!
New to the forum and new to Raspberry Pi stuff anyway :).

So I've bin building a retropie console for the past 3 weeks, the actual physical build is nearly finished, just waiting on the last few components to make it 100%.

But I've bin dabbling in the splash screens realm and also looking at creating a theme to go alongside my splash screen and name I've given my little console.

I've Named it Orbital Pi as the case I have for it is round, will post pictures later on but I'm posting from my work computer.... Naughty I know.

But I just thought I'd share my splash screen and maybe be bit cheeky with asking people opinions on theme ideas :)

So I hope you Guys like what I've made :)

and here's a link to my actual loading video with sounds :)

Like I said guys if anyone has any ideas or anything they think I should incorporate into the theme please don't hesitate

I like the white-green-red color scheme! Very fresh!
Eager to see the physical build!

If tetris has thought me anything, it's that errors pile up and that accomplishments dissappear.

          @Zigurana Thanks Man :)

The actual build is currently unremarkable. I'm waiting on a new switch board from Mausberry so I can wire up a momentary switch.

Done the intial testing with their same power board but with a rocker switch.

The plan is to also mod the case a tad so that the power cord input and HDMI input sit flush to the casing.

Also sourcing the stuff to either put the "Orbital Logo" even on the casing as a decal or having it engraved into the plastic. Can't decide which would look more sleek.

Also forgot to mention that the current Loading screen I have in place is still a work in progress. The sound are not finished and I'm thinking of animating the logo in some way. A sound engineer friend is also working on some custom loading sounds and scrolling sounds for emulation station :)

and just in case you was wondering here's the current indev case.

            Nice work!

How and where did you put the video? Does it replace the Emulation Station screen?

It's just an .MP4 file. stitched it together in some video editing software I have and then loaded into the splash screen folder on the Retropie. I was taking a bit of a gamble on the sound working but it did!

The emulation station screen loads still after the little loading thing I've made. But I'm using a Pi3 Model B which is really fast for loading so it doesn't always show the logo. Sometimes it loads the emulator selection screen right off the bat :)

Thanks! So just to clarify, the video replaces de RetroPie splash screen?
And how do you know the timing of the video? I mean, does it always play until you see the loading bars? Or it depends on the loading time of the Raspberry?

Yeah it replaces the Retropie splash screen :)

I myself wasn't too sure on the timing of the splash screen so i made the intial loading screens, then added the loading section to prevent the video looping, as that's what Retropie would do.

I think I made it about 18 seconds just to be safe. But the actual 2 title screens is about 6 seconds.

@monstermadeofman Thanks! I'll try it myself for the cabinet that I'm building which I'll show some time in the near future around here.

So for anyone interested I made a second iteration of the loading screen (Actually about the 7th but I keep changing it).

Going for that more playful Nintendo feel
