AFAIK those games as Satellaview games. Can you try the latest lr-snes9x to run those games ?

You'll need a BIOS for Satellaview games (BS-X.bin), don't you have that already ?

@shavecat What other games ? Are you referring to other Satellaview games or SNES games ?

@shavecat I had the same problem. Fixed by adding satellite data to the roms directory. See this other forum thread from 2019 Mar. Especially note final comments from @hermit who mentioned:

if anyone is interested, I noticed that using time channels, many games work properly (eg Satella walker or Mario Excitebike).
I am attaching my latest data, where I have enabled building animations, time channels and other things :)

Definitely worked for me using lr_snes9x

                Best,

                  didnt work for me :
only the lr-snes9x2005 works fine with steallview.
but with the lr-snes it just quit the game after pick one.
                  and the ExctieBike Bunbun Mario
is the only one that just load i cant play it from somehow ...

Okay, not sure why 2005 is the only version that works for you. I didn't even think that version works with Satellaview.

A few things you might try/consider:

                    1. From Retropie Setup, reinstall lr-snes9x or lr-snes9x2010 from binary (even if it's already installed). Is definitely works if properly installed. You may have a funky version currently. Once reinstalled, set it as either your default emu or for the Excitebike ROM if you prefer.
                    2. Try an uncompressed version of Excitebike (not ZIPped)
                    3. Ensure your BIOS file is English/no-DRM and is properly renamed BS-X.bin and placed in the BIOS directory/folder
                    4. Ensure you have SatData2 files uncompressed, properly named and in your ROMs directory /folder w/Excitebike. The link included in my forward above has everything you'll need.

All versions of Excitebike (Stadium 1-4) work with this configuration and are playable after launching by pressing START on your controller. If you cannot press start, then SatData is probably not being properly read. If you used the SatData posted, when you enter the SatellaView hub world, you'll see lots of buildings animated and people/creatures running around.

Hope this information helps get you running.
                    Best of luck!
                    -Ros

I can confirm that the game boots and starts with lr-snes9x, having the BX-X.bin file in the BIOS folder. I don't have the SatData files, so probably that's why the game ends abruptly - though the controls work in the bonus round, after which I cannot progress.

The 2015 version starts the game directly - without going through the town, but the loading screen just stays there and that's it.
