      Re: Splash screen problems! :(

HI there I have been researching and researching and trying all different things and I can't find any text to change to enable the sound for my video splash screens. I've done so many sudo nano splash screens inputs and I always get just a blank screen with nothing to change. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

You don't need to 'enable' the source for the splashscreen specifically, is your sound working otherwise in Emulationstation or in games ?

@mitu yes the sound is working in the ES and I have a Cm3 in a Gameboy that is connected onto a Kite circuit sword pcb. The only problem I have is no sound on the video splash screen. The video plays flawlessly. It use to be a simple change for the omxplayer from both to alsa but I can't find the text to change it.

If you run omxplayer from the command line, is the sound ok ?
The start-up script is in /opt/retropie/supplementary/asplashscreen.sh, that's where omxplayer is called.

You're supposed to use omxplayer <path/to/file> to play the file, that's what I meant. And the output is not 'code', it's probably just the help/usage message from omxplayer if you don't supply the right arguments.

@mitu okay I'm sure that might be my problem is I'm not sure how to navigate through the commands well, but at the command line: pi"retropie:~ $ (I put I in: /opt/retropie/supplementary/asplashscreen.sh) and it says : - bash: /opt/retropie/supplementary/asplashscreen.sh: no such file or directory

@mitu rule #5? I don't understand? I did load the software on the SD card and am putting this together myself, I just have come to a issue that I have researched and nothing has worked for me so I'm trying to find out what I'm doing wrong.

@mitu when you say path to file do you mean CD (change directory) to get to omxplayer?

No, I mean the path to the video file

It's easy - did you download the image from this site or not ? My question was to provide more details about your installation - what Pi model, what RetroPie version, etc. You've not mentioned anything about that. Did you buy the kit with the image included ?
