TAB menu in snes and other emulators
-
Question is does the TAB menu exist for emulators other than MAME?
I have deleted the default.cfg to get it to work in MAME2003 but find no such option for other emulators.

It's emulator specific, so it's not available for all - I think Reicast also has TAB as a way to bring up its menu (either that or Ctrl+Tab).
For Libretro based emulators (lr-..
), you can use theHotkey + X
to open the RetroArch menu and configure the emulator's options. -
Have been finding it hard/confusing to set individual game controls in retroarch, TAB menu was a blessing when I came across it
any tips for setting controls in retroarch..

If you configured your input in Emulationstation, the configuration for RetroArch should have been automatically generated. If you're not happy with the default mapping, then check out the Docs page, especially the section about Core Input Remapping.

@Jezza It depends which games you want to change the controls on? It's still abit of a faff but you can save core remaps under Retroarch if that's any help? That way you can say take the gameboy and adjust it so Y & B are the buttons rather than A & B. Then save that remap for the entire core. As if you've got hundreds of games you'll be there forever changing it game per game.

Have hundreds... Understanding retroarch is my issue, I'll get there. Once I get that covered setting core maps will be the way to go I'm sure

Nice answers guys
Have got there (or have achieved somewhat for now) easier to focus on what looks confusing when one knows they are following the correct path
