Doom Port: Ceiling and Floor texture issue
-
When playing doom the floor and ceiling behaves awkwardly:
It starts normally but if I rotate on myself it shifts and deforms like in the above image (the screenshot is not made by me, but the effect is the same I'm getting). Anyone having the same issue?
I'm running the latest version of everything off a Pi4. But I was having the same exact issue on Pi3B+. I'm running doom of lr-PrBoom 2.5.0.
-
I think it's a bug - already reported to the
lr-prboom
project here. -

For whoever is having this issue. This is indeed a bug. It's not currently solved, but it's possible to work around it.
Just go to the game's options and turn off the
wiggle geometry fix

@pamput thank you for this, just noticed this last night and saw it was a known issue but didn't realize it was a setting that we could toggle off.
-
I've documented this in the Doom's wiki page for good measure. Hopefully this will save others the headache :)
-
@pamput so I finally got around to testing this out but I cannot find the setting for wiggle geometry anywhere in the retroarch options. In fact it seems like a lot of the settings are missing. I've tried the source and binary builds of lr-prboom but neither seem to have this option.
-
@quicksilver you need to go Options -> General -> press right twice:
At least this is what I see. I've also updated from source, so hopefully we should both see the same. The menu is a little feedly.
-
@pamput thank you, I was looking in the retroarch menu for the setting.
-
There is a chance this is finally fixed:
https://github.com/libretro/libretro-prboom/issues/112
https://github.com/libretro/libretro-prboom/pull/131Didn't have the time to test this yet. Can anyone confirm?
-
@pamput Yes it does indeed appear to be fixed now
