Hi all, is there a way to export the control scheme / button layout from lr-mame2003 into lr-mame-2003-plus? Unfortunately for me, the button layout in lr-mame-2003-plus is all wrong. I've tried the default options (modern fight, 6 button, 8 button, etc) but they are all incorrect. lr-mame-2003 classic layout is how it should be.

@Evert if anything, button layout in mame2003-plus is way more retropad-compliant than mame2003, so if you have issues whatever the setting my main guess would be that you didn't configure the retropad layer properly in the first place. You should take a look at https://docs.libretro.com/library/mame2003_plus/. I recommend mapping for "Modern Fightstick", it's more compliant than "8 buttons" with the retropad standard.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately that is not correct. My controllers are setup correctly as all the other emulators are working as the should. Mame2003 works correct for all the Mortal Kombat games, but when I try these games in Mame2003-plus, the layout is wrong. I’m not doubting that Mame2003-plus might be better for some games, but for the Mortal Kombat series it is all wrong. This is both the case for my arcade setup as well as my tv based retropie unit.

@Evert In your first post, you made it sound like a global issue, which is why i thought your retropad layer wasn't properly configured. If it's about specific games, maybe you should mention it in the first place, mame2003plus support several thousands of games, each of them might need some tuning to get proper default mapping : while i think a vast majority have proper defaults, it's obvious that some would be overlooked. We should probably tag @arcadez2003 about this.
On a sidenote, i mapped the controls like this in FBNeo :
            HP HK Block
            LP LK Block
because i think it's more convenient than the original arcade layout, which is more like this :
            HP Block HK
            LP Block LK

Thanks mate. I thought it was the case for all mame2003-plus games, but to be honest only tried the MK games before I jumped to that conclusion. I only realised that other games might benefit from the new layout after your post.
It would be great if an additional controller layout could be added to Mame2003-plus, to accomodate games like MK that worked well with the old button layout. @arcadez2003 Would this be possible in future iterations of mame2003-plus?
I agree with your FBN layout. It might not be the closest to the arcade original, but it works better and is also compatible with a game pad.

just use mames gui to set the controls you want for this game. If you do have a five button layout i can tell you how to map it. if you dont have a five button layout best to use the mame internal mapping for this game.
