    Hello, I’m a noob on Linux))) after installing retropie on Ubuntu 18.04, an error occurs when starting ROMs: /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 408: printf: 60.02 invalid number. How to fix it?IMG_20200210_024625.jpg

      Can you add more info about your system - what version of RetroPie are you using ?

      Can you also run - from a terminal/command line - xrandr --verbose and post the output ?

        @mitu Hello, thanks for answering))). Of course I can. Notebook hp pavillion 14, core i5 8520U, nvidia mx130, ram 16gb, Ubuntu 04/18/04. Retropie v. 4.5.1. Installed as written in the instructions. This error opens in a separate window as soon as I start the ROM, then the boot window opens where it says launching ....., press A ...., error are .... and the ROM starts. But if you make a move between the open windows, then it will be there until the game is closed and the retropie menu is exited. And so every time. Does this ```xrandr --verbose

            I think the problem is because the terminal localization is set to something that makes printf to fail:

            pi@retropie $ _number=60.02 && LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 printf '%.0f\n' ${_number::-2}
            -bash: printf: 60.: invalid number
            0
            # with EN or C locale:
            $ _number=60.02 && LC_ALL=en_GB.UTF-8 printf '%.0f\n' ${_number::-2}
            60
            # _number=60.02 && LC_ALL=C printf '%.0f\n' ${_number::-2}
            60

            Try modifying the RetroPie start-up link so that it starts with C locale, this should make the problem go away. Open the $HOME/.config/autostart/retropie.desktop and change the line:

            Exec=gnome-terminal --full-screen --hide-menubar -e emulationstation
            

            to

            Exec=gnome-terminal --full-screen --hide-menubar -e "LC_NUMERIC=C emulationstation"
            

            See if this solves your issue.

                    @mitu Unfortunately, this did not work, now when you try to start retropie, a terminal appears with a red line as in the photo above. and it does not start.

                      @pechenbka Seems like instead of starting the EmulationStation front-end, now it opens the file editor ?
                      What happens if you run the command from a terminal:

                      gnome-terminal --full-screen --hide-menubar -e "LC_NUMERIC=C emulationstation"

                            How about if your start an xterm, make it fullscreen, then run

                            LC_NUMERIC=C emulationstation
