Advice with Wireless controller and Retro pi
-
Hi,
I've just bought 2 x Wireless Pi gamepads from the Pi hut https://thepihut.com/products/raspberry ... controller , Both setup really easy but I seem to be having a slight problem in game with the Pads, they seem to start off OK but every 10 seconds or so it seems to lag, almost like it loses connection for a split second.
Any ideas what this could be?
They use 2 x AA batteries, I thought it might be the quality of these so I tried and brand new pair but I still get this. Thanks

What Pi model ? Your link to the controllers doesn't work (it's cut).
Older Pi models (before the 3B+) have issues with Bluetooth when using multiple controllers. The usual advice was to get an USB connected Bluetooth dongle and use it instead of the internal Pi's Bluetooth chip. Depending on your system and setup, that might still be a good advice. Please provide mode info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first, and we might be able to provide a better recommendation.

@philtomo Check out the guidance here:

You might just need to put your TV in gaming mode, but there are other things to check.

Hi,
Thanks for your replies with this - the controllers are from the Pi Hut "Compatible Wireless Gamepad"
Here
I think I have the 3b, I will have to check. -

These seem to be wireless, but with an USB dongle (receiver) - so they're not using Bluetooth. If they get stuck at times, then maybe the controller wireless connection is interrupted, but this is between the receiver and the controller.
If you use only 1 controller, do you get the same issues ?

Check on its own and i have the same problem. I removed the wireless keyboard dongle also and still the same.
Any ideas?
