Amiberry Amiga CD support?
-
Hi
Tried to post in the legendary amiberry holy grail thread but it might not have been to right place to go to... :)
I just recently came across Amiga CD which I totally missed before and found a few gems there. I posted about .HDF files but it seems they are not supported by Amiberry after doing some more research, but I also tried .LHA versions. These files ended up in a black screen after trying to find a slave file with the below output in runcommand.log. All files creates the same output.
Is it due to lack of support in Amiberry or maybe I'm missing a kickrom or something else...? Has anyone figured out how to run Amiga CD games?
Parameters:
Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/amiberry.sh auto "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/C*****************.lha"
libEGL warning: DRI3: xcb_connect failed
libEGL warning: DRI2: xcb_connect failed
libEGL warning: DRI2: xcb_connect failedUsing RetroPie 4.5.1 with setup script 4.5.18 and Amiberry 3.1.3.

You need both a 3.1 Kickstart and the extended CD32 Kickstart. use a CRC32 checker to check that they work ok. You will need the phrase "_CD32" in the title of the game file (.CUE or .LHA) ot get it to work
Also check that your .LHA ROMS are the latest version that you can find. Avoid ROMS with no version number.
Amiberry will also run .CUE/.ISO files. CDTV games can be run by renaming them CD32 if you don't have a functional CDTV Kickstart (I think mine is faulty).
CRC32 info is here: https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Kickstart-ROMs-(BIOS)

Thanks, tried it out but still no success. I already had the right kickstart and renaming didn't work.
Regular CD32 games work, but these are not available as WHDload so I have to find other ways to get them to work.
Some games that are Amiga CD games that is not working, Wasted Dreams, Land of Genesis to name a few.

Wasted Dreams needs 3MB of but is otherwise compliant with any base A500+/A600/A1200/CD32+ spec.
[2] Min. Requirements: 68000 CPU, ECS or AGA chipset, 3Mb ram (2Mb chip + 1Mb fastram or other memory), 2x CDROM.
Utilises (if available): AGA chipset (for rendered intro animation), more memory, faster CPU or CDROM drive.Try increasing the Fast Ram in Amiberry then reset the game from within the emulator.
Land of Genesis seems to be compliant with the A1200/CD32+ spec.
Are they .ISOs?

@George-Spiggott Ok, I will try them out with other settings and see how it goes. One thought I have is that they actually are .lha format and maybe the files then are assumed to be WHDload when run and then it fails to load since they are not... Did that make any sense? :)
I haven't tried ISO yet but will give that a go if I can't get the .lha files to work.
