Guide used: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Commander-Keen
File: N/A
Emulator: ports / cgenius
Attachment of config files: I'm not sure which config files would be relevant
How to replicate the problem:
After installing Commander Genius from RetroPie-Setup, and running it via emulationstation, I'm presented with a blank screen with a mouse cursor in ht eupper-left corner. Nothing else happens. Pressing gamepad or keyboard controls do nothing, I can't exit out using start+select on the gamepad but I can get back to emulationstation by pressing alt+f4 on the keyboard. After I press alt+f4 the runcommand.log entries prefixed with "n: " and "w: " appear.I have tried both with the precompiled binary and compiling from scratch.

You need the game files for Commander Genius to work. Maybe it's not clear from the doc page, but you need to copy the Command Keen game files into the
keen1
/keen2
/etc. folders under theports/cgenius
directory.Normally, if no game is found, a pop-up should appear with the information of where to copy the games, but for some reason it doesn't work on the PI3.

Ah thanks. I was intending to use the Commander Genius loading screen to download the freeware games, but I'll try installing them myself.
