@xXRiseEmpireXx Yup
-
what method are you using for roms internal or usb. becasue i recommend if all else fails just use binary only. then update the retropie script to 4.5.20 thats mine right now. then update it should say something like update underlying os kernal say yes then update every emulator. but idk whats going on if your isnt working
-
@xXRiseEmpireXx The roms are internal.
-
what method did you use to install retropie? manual(Raspbain) or img. i always used manual. because so i can download my roms without a need of a pc
-
@AssCabbage did it work after?
-
Nope. Heading to bed now. Hoping in the morning @mitu has the hash to let me downgrade to the base image and see if that fixes it :/
-
@AssCabbage ok hope everything goes ok. later

I've posted in the other topic that. I'd be interested to also see your configuration files:
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
/opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg
- any
opt
files from/home/pi/.config/retroarch/config/PCSX-ReARMed/
for the game that locks up RetroArch.
If the file is too large, use pastebin.com. Thank you.

OK, I've discovered something else.
If I manage to change the disc without it hanging, when I go to quit the game, the system hangs and I can't get back to the RetroPie menu.I took a log from this: https://pastebin.com/KmDL51hM
Has anyone any ideas at all? This is disastrous. Do I just start again and build a fresh image? I only made this card this week.
I have the same problem. When i try to exit from a PS1 game the system hangs. It's something that does not happen all the time.
I am cheking for system updates very often, i start to have the above problem the last 2 weeks. i will try to reproduce it and catch some logs.

Can you post your config files - as I asked @AssCabbage in my previous reply ? Use pastebin.com for large files.

@mitu
Here's the files you requested, this is before I attempted the downgrade.Let me know if you see anything. I'm going to attempt the downgrade now.

@mitu
Gah! b8e2ded403bf01 brings the old disc swap menu back, but it still crashes when I try to leave the game after changing disc or if I try and change back to disc 1 :/ -
From what I see, there's nothing out of the ordinary in the @windg's configs (or options).
@AssCabbage you seem to have uses 'Save config' in-game, but the.opt
file seems to be ok.I'll try one of the games mentioned, maybe it's game related - I still cannot reproduce the issue with the multi-disc games I have.
-
I've saved config for all the games so I can activate the dual shock controller for games that use it.

You can do that with a game input override, it's a smaller config file.

I find a way to reproduce the problem with the lock up on exit and during disk change. I use Disk1 and Disk 4 from Final Fantasy VIII (USA), no save files are required.
1.) Lock up on exit.
I start the game from disk 4 and choose new game. It will ask for disk 1, from the retroarch menu i switch to disk 1. When the intro from the game starts to play, i press the combination keys to exit. then. the retropie stop responding.
2.) Lock up during disk swapping
I start the game from disk 4 and choose new game, It will ask for disk 1, from retroarch menu i switch to disk 4(again), after the wrong disk message It will ask for disk 1, then i switch to disk 1 and the retropie stop responding.
-
Pretty much @windg , but I don't need to go into a valid swap situation. Just wait until it's not reading from the disk and change over and back and it crashes.

retroarch.logThat looks like a different issue - at this point RetroArch doesn't even run.

discgame from the disc directly. I always use them3u
file to run multi-disc games and now I just swap the disc, without browsing for the new disc.I tried also Driver 2, but couldn't get it to lock RetroArch.

The lock up on exit, what should happen here? From my log it looks like retroarch closed successfully. Also, since downgrading didn't fix it, it looks like it's not actually retroarch that's the problem. Is there anything else we could try downgrading?
