      Pi Model or other hardware: 3 B
      Power Supply used: 5V USB to microUSB
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.4
      Built From: Image provided by RetroPie
      USB Devices connected: PS3 controller, 16gb USB
      Error messages received: Could not install package(s): (package name)!

        If you used the RetroPie provided image, you don't need to perform a basic installation - RetroPie is already installed.

        But returning to your error - is your Pi connected to the network and does it have internet access, to be able to download the necessary packages ?

          @mitu I'm connected to the network. Do I need to use VPN in my area to download?

            No, there's no need to for that. Is the internet working from your Pi ? Can you try a simple

            ping google.com
            

            from the terminal ?

                That's not saying much - do you get a reply back ? Is the connection working ? Can you install a simple package via apt get ?
