Retroarch install from source failed

For the 4.6.1 you should have the binary installation available - why aren't you installing from binary ?

Which version - the Lite or the Desktop version ? Did you do any re-configuration for the system ?

@mitu i believe it was the lite version and i did not reconfigure any system settings. The source.list is also pointing to raspbian buster.

I think the reason your install doesn't work is because you modified your config.txt and removed the GL driver overlay - loaded by default and which is necessary for RetroPie to work on the Pi4 model.
Any reason you're not using the RetroPie image ?

The reason why I insist on installing on existing os is that I am using hard drive for os and I try not to flash the image as it means I need to overwrite the hard drive.

@Floppy No, it's not correct - you disabled the necessary overlay for the GL driver, which is unsupported on the Pi4.
