Trying to setup RetroPi using the latest version "retropie-buster-4.6-rpi4.img.gz". Formatted 32GB SanDisk micro SD, and the aforementioned image was written to the micro SD using Win32DiskImager. Micro SD works when using Raspbian, so its not a corrupted micro SD. Pi starts successfully, but displays screen with titles such as "board, boot, SD CID, part, etc", and at the bottom displays "SD boot failed, BOOT_STOPPED: 0x00000001 0x0".

@quicksilver Sorry, didn't know it needed to be unzipped. Any program to do this or can it be done on the desktop? Thanks.

@BeanFT win32disk imager doesn't support writing compressed images directly (etcher does I believe). So you'll need to use a program like 7zip, WinRAR etc. first to extract the .img then use win32disk imager to write the image to the card.
