Arcade stick not working in RetroPie, shows up as Xbox 360 controller

Raspberry support was mentioned, but I haven't been able to get it to work. It's not detected when emulationstation boots, and no input from the joystick is recognized. The light on the arcade stick is lit. I ran lsusb from a command line, and the stick shows up as a Microsoft Corp. Xbox360 controller. I ran jstest and the stick's inputs register properly. How do I get emulationstation to recognize the stick?

nevermind...after running the tests, and rebooting the Raspberry, the joystick was detected.
