I followed the manual and video from Wagners tech talk.
Also I found some helpful hints in this forum. But unfortunate no final solution.

My sensor bar is added to the upper left USB port of my pie4 8gb. Synced with my wii mote and in mode 2.

Duck hunt arcade and some of the other old games seem to work fine. But if I start for instance terminator 2 or alien I just don't see a crossair.

Also if I enter the mame menu with tab there I can't define the player 1 a button if I pull the trigger on my wii gun.

I really tried several things and watched several videos but I just can't get it working.

Does anybody has an idea what I could try or what the problem could be?
If any further information is required please let me know.

      Thank you!!!

Some info about the emulators used would be helpful, as well as the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

I gave it another try this morning.
I found out that in the configuration, I have to activate the mouse und configurate the x and y axis by moving the wii mote in the right direction.
Sorry, I`m pretty new to this. For Duck Hunt and some others it worked right from the start. Now I basically now how to do this.

But there is another problem. I was able to get the X axis clean.

But it just dont work for the Y axis. There is now always X and Y and this multiple times. I think I tried now 100 times but I just cant get only Y.

Also button 1 includes now X/Y values. Seems like if the lightgun is moving the slidest in a wrong direction, it just don`t work.

Is there a way to write down mouse Y manually directly in the game cfg?

@FRAQATTAQ said in Light gun does not work for most games:

                Guide used: Wagner tech talk

Could you provide a link to the guide, please?

Emulator: emulation station / retropie / mame

Emulation Station and Retropie are not emulators, and Retropie supports a number of different MAME versions. See here for a list. Which one did you try?

The default MAME of the official Retropie image is lr-mame2003 which uses the romset of MAME 0.78. You can see the emulator used (and change it) in the Runcommand Launch Menu.

You'll need the right romset for your MAME version, other romset will probably fail or cause problems. See lArcade and Validating, Rebuilding, and Filtering ROM Collections for more information about that.
