I used lr-yabause to run Saturn games on my Raspberry 4 (4Gb) and everything was fine.
After system update (all packages + kernel) when I start each game emulator displays "drive is empty" in Saturn bios.
I tried to update emulator from source and reinstall it completely, but nothing helped.
Has anybody faced the same issue? Any ideas how to fix it?

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
What format are your Saturn games ?

@DeFarro said in lr-yabause stopped working after system update:

        "drive is empty"

That's the message when it can't read or recognize your isos. Maybe they got corrupt or something.

          Pi Model : 4B
          Power Supply used: Raspberry
RetroPie Version Used: 4.6.2 (commit 9602674f5df903d02c6736119ea5842e81039bf9)
Built From: pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
          USB Devices connected: none
          Controller used: Nintendo Switch Pro
Error messages received: "drive is empty"
          Emulator: lr-yabause

Saturn games are .bin + .cue

@barbudreadmon It only affected saturn games, all other roms/bin/iso work fine.

The reason might not be corruption then, but the fact remains the same : yabause is unable to read your isos, probably because it doesn't see them, and you got something like [libretro ERROR] Yabause: Cannot initialize ISO-File Virtual Drive in your logs.

Edit : another theory, your update (from binaries ?) reverted lr-yabause to a version that doesn't work properly, you should give a try to rebuilding it from sources.

@barbudreadmon I've checked logs (I hope I've used the correct way) and there are no errors there, just this command:

              Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-yabause/yabause_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/saturn/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/saturn/Shining Force 3/Shining Force 3.cue" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

Should I check some other logs?
I've deleted rom files and transferred them again from my main pc, and emulation station displayed them in menu with no problems.

Regarding to the other theory, I always install/update from sources. And I've tried to delete and reinstall emulator just before starting this thread. Should I try binaries instead?

You need to enable verbose logging when starting the game to get more info in the log.

Yeah, as i said, the "drive is empty" message meant it was unable to read your dump for some reason :).
It might be worth mentioning, i backported dump format support from kronos to yabause last year, which means it supports chd, cue/bin in a zip, and cue with multiple bins
