      Hi,

I used to be able to run emulationstation within the Raspian desktop. I uploaded my os to 4.19 and retropie to 4.6, but now it doesn't launch games. Whenever I try to launch a game, it switches to the desktop, then back to the menu. I tried using my original desktop and original retropie version, but that didn't work even though I was able to do it before.

Is there any way to make emulationstation work within the desktop? I know it's recommended to just use the raspberry pi to launch emulationstation, but if it's possible I'd like to use the pi for other things as well.

I'm using Raspberry Pi 4 with 4 mb ram with a 5V power supply

      Thanks so much!

You can still use the desktop, start if from EmulationStation - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#where-did-the-desktop-go - and not the other way around.
