I'm running Retropie on SD card and ROMS are running from SSD drive. Every time I try to boot anything from the Ports menu I get sh: permission denied

      Any ideas?

@sad_muso How is the SSD formatted and how did you set it up for mounting ?

@mitu Managed to sort it by adding bash to this like in es_systems.cfg: <command>bash %ROM%</command>

Now I need to work out why Steamlink quits back to ES when selecting the Play option 😭

Did you check the permissions of the ports? The normal permissions on my unmodified RetroPie ports directory are rwxr-xr-x for the .sh files and drwxrwxr-x for the subdirectories. The owner of everything there is pi.

edit: Ah, I overlooked your last post. It's 01:11 in the night here, and I just came back from a couple of cocktails. Good night.

That's actually how retropie is by default. At least since August 2016 (when bash was added to avoid permissions issues on fat32 etc). Old out of date custom es_systems.cfg? Your other issues
may be related if you have old configs etc.
