I have a xbox 360 wireless receiver plugged in to my raspberry pi. Sometimes I can connect my wireless joypad to it no problem, but most of the time I cannot. When the pi is restarted, or turned off and then back on again, the receiver and the joypad completely forget they were ever connected to each other.

When player 1 does work, adding a second controller is impossible (it may have worked once...)

@sphirst sounds like a problem with your receiver. I dont believe the pi has any control of those 2 being synced

@sphirst are you using the xpad or xboxdrv driver? I had very similar problems when I was using the xboxdrv driver in RetroPie 3.8.x and I had to downgrade the kernel for it to work properly. Now with RetroPie 4.0.x I've been using the xpad driver and it works great now (except in KODI).

Here is the thread talking about downgrading the kernel for the xboxdrv driver:

So I updated my retropie to 4.something, uninstalled the xboxdrv and then installed the xpad and it seems to work fine. Kodi on the other hand is an absolute clusterfuck but looking at the thread you posted it seems it should be cleared up in the next version.
