@escc1986 said in pi 4 Question : Sega Saturn:

How Well Does Sega Saturn Games Play on the PI 4 ?

saturn became playable on pi4, but it's still far from being a good arm SoC for this, there are far better arm SoC on the market for this : jetson nano, odroid n2

Thank you for your input and suggestions

I really enjoyed them and i will research them and see my options

I did research the jetson Nano it looks great but it's out of my budget at the moment but it was nice that you made the suggestions because I had never knew what those were

        I just might pick up a Pi 4 :)

Very nice of you to give me a brief reaction of how you enjoy your Pi 4 and it's tempting

I will let you know when or if I pull the trigger on a Pi 4 :)

Which emulator do you use within retropie to have a playable Saturn? i only see lr-yabause and tried several settings to make it work, but it remains a slideshow...

Aside from the currently available options for Saturn emulation, the author of SSF is currently working on a Pi 4 port as well. No indication of when it might be done, but that's something to look out for at least.

@akamming that's really old news btw, but it's not on retropie, it does not have a proper fix so it won't be out in the sun soon, you can build your own, I tested the standalone and lr-yabasanshiro, yabause is a pig hogging all the machines cpu and stuff, but you can play most 2d games on lr-yabasanshiro, 3d is okay playable but they just run a bit slow and sound runs good, not like yabause where sound is always crackling and video shutters, yabasanshiro just runs slower.

@escc1986 you have alot of choices, but if you want something with cash limit, get pi4 2gb, it has Bluetooth built in,4usb,eithernet, easy install fan, use a gamepad Bluetooth or wired,3.5mm audio/video jack input but best of all retropie on pi4 with a big community with support.
