Emulation Station within terminal window

Hey there,

I'm using a graphical desktop on my pi with retropi base image. When I launch emulation station from a terminal window it takes over the full screen as if I was just booting up. Is it possible to run emulation station inside of the terminal window?

I would like to say have a gameboy game open in a terminal window, but have another terminal open doing stuff while I play.

@raiju no, in fact it's only really supported to run emulationstation on a pi when you exit the desktop and run it directly from a command prompt.
