Okay here's the deal, I'm new, and when I say new I mean like explain to me like I'm 5 new.

My retro-pie boots up to the main screen but after that I have zero inputs. No keyboard (wired or USB Bluetooth), no controller, absolutely nothing. I cant even get into the cmd box in anyway.

    Its a Raspberry Pi 3 B V1.2
    SoC: Broadcom BCM2837.
    CPU: 4× ARM Cortex-A53, 1.2GHz.
    GPU: Broadcom VideoCore IV.
    RAM: 1GB LPDDR2 (900 MHz)
    Networking: 10/100 Ethernet, 2.4GHz 802.11n wireless.
Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.1 Classic, Bluetooth Low Energy.
    Storage: microSD.

I have the proper power supply 5V 3.1A max.
I have power coming from my USB ports, all 4 of them.
    It's connected via HDMI
I'm able to open the folders through my network but I do not know what to even look for in there.
I've tried several different controllers, xbox ps4, ps3, 8bitdo snes pro controllers, the keyboards.
I tried to do the input configure thing where you hold down a button but again nothing happens.

when i boot up it does tell me
    the first line says:

[Failed] failed to start load kernel Modules.
see systemctl status systemd-modules-load.service' for details

    After a bit of loading:

[Failed] failed to start configure bluetooth modems connected by UART.
see ' systemctl status hciuart.service' for details
    [Failed] to start connect Bluetooth.
see ' systemctl status' connect-bluetooth.service' for details.

What image did you use to build this system?

      RPi 3b
      Official PSU
      Official RetroPie image
      Pandora's Box 5 controller

I don't know it was pre-built and given to me as a gift, is there a way to find the answer in the bios?

@heyou06 Sorry, we can't support 3rd party images. You will need to download the official image from this site and install that.

@BuZz to clear up any misunderstandings a 3rd party image is when someone else sets up retropie for you right?

@heyou06 any image where we can't be sure what was changed before the user got it. Many products sold that include retropie have customisations. Many are just badly set up.

If someone installs an image from our site, we know how to advise (and the user will be able to specify what they did etc).

You may find installing a new image from our site will just work.

You can backup any files from your current set up. See the documentation on that here https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#making-a-backup

@heyou06 it's no trouble. Check out our download page and install instructions and see how you get on. Back up any data you want from your current card first.

@BuZz I Flashed another SD card that i had when i first got my switch, I mounted the image on the "new" sd card with the latest image 4.6 of retro pie and i do have the ability to use controls, so now all i have to do is import files from the other card.
