memory card capacity

I am using a 64gb Micro sd card for my roms.
Recently I downloaded the theme gallery so I can preview themes, and then changed to the comic book one. After doing so I noticed that I lost all my save points in the games I was currently playing, as well as my favorites folder completely vanished. I set it back up but noticed everytime I input favorites, they were gone when I turned my system back on again. The descriptions to the games are also blank. I haven't changed any settings except the theme that one time, which I changed back.
I'm wondering if i ran out of memory on my micro SD card, if thats what might be causing these issues... and how can I find out how much memory I have left?
I'm about to clone it to a 128gb card and see if that helps, but I can't get to it for a few days unfortunately.Retropie 4.6
Raspberry pi 4 4gb
Canakit power supply.

Memory != disc space. You've probably ran out of space on your SD card - you can check by exiting EmulationStation and looking at the welcome message, which will show you the free space left on your sdcard.

I'm assuming if I delete some of my roms, it should free up space for my saves.
Retropie is still acting up lately, as referred to in op... i had some games saved in my favorites, but they all erased. I put a new game in there to test it after updating retropie to 4.6, and it stays, like it should, but when I try to add another game into favorites, it still won't stay, just the one. Its weird.
Another strange thing: the game data that shows up when you enter the NES game menu is also gone. It shows the games, but no pics or descriptions. They were there, but now they're not. All the other systems game data are still present.I've tried cloning the 64gb sd card to a 128gb, but thats proven to be beyond my pay grade.

Did you check how much free disc space you have ?

@mitu
at present I'm not able to.
I'm at work . and have no access to a keyboard. I can exit emulation station with my controller, but it doesn't give me the screen that shows memory space. It just gives me a relatively blank screen with a command line .
Should typing df - h give me that info? (Whenever I can get my keyboard plugged in, of course) -

Yes, that should give an overview of available space.

@mitu Thanks. I'll try that asap Wednesday.

@Skervix You can use
df
from Terminal to see disc space.https://www.tecmint.com/how-to-check-disk-space-in-linux/
I'm just linking to an outside webpage to show examples. -
@mitu I tried that command and it says I have 304 MB free in dev/root. So Im guessing thats enough for a few game saves. I also Uninstalled the themes I'm not using and even a few games I'm not using.
(Its amusing how small some games are, especially compared to today's games on XB1, PS4...) -

Usually 5% of the capacity of the filesystem is reserved for the
root
user, so a simple user doesn't accidentally fill up the disc and crashed the system.Depending on your card size, you might be below the 5% reserved and you may be unable to write new files, even if there is free space available.
