8bitdo sn30 wired controllerI have a Vizio tv at home. Its several yrs old.Not sure of the model number, as I'm not there to get it, but i noticed substantial lag when I try to play most games. I've tried nes, snes, sega genesis games and others. Ive even tried changing the tv game mode. All of the games lag noticeably. I brought my pi to work and hooked it up to the TV out here, and presto, it worked perfectly smooth. The TV out here is a Vizio E400i-B2. Well, last week they ordered a new tv here at work, and its a TU700D. And it lags. Its a brand new tv. Frustrating. I searched this forum for fixes and haven't found anything that works so far.
I cant find a E400iB2 for sale, so i'm wondering if there's any tried and true tv lists out there?
I've searched for best gaming tvs online but there's literally millions to choose from and the aforementioned tvs have similar specs. Im thinking I might just have to go to Walmart or Best Buy and buy a tv, test it, and try to return it until I find a good one. -
Check out https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-usage/video-gaming. They have reviews, specs, price, etc.

I'm using Sony X900H. And it definietly met my need. (Actually it goes beyond my expenstion cuase I only play some boxing game.) Maybe YouTube and is a better palce to get the true review. Here's an example.
Besides that, you can check out the comments also. -
@Janew i went to my mother's house, and she has three tvs over there. I tried her newest one -purchased last yr- and it lagged. I tried her 2 other tvs, both of which are 6 yrs old and both worked perfectly-one a Vizio, the other an Element. i think i had read somewhere that the newer tvs and their higher resolutions (2160p, 4k) present issues, while older crt tvs and 720p, 1028p are working great .

@Skervix Perhaps that lags is caused by high frame rage issue. :( I don't know the exact tech.

@Skervix Enable your tv's game mode. That's the best you can do. Run the pi4 at 1080p. I also recommend rtings.com. They measure the input lag of many tv's.
