I’m using a raspberry pi 4 model b, with a raspberry pi official usb c power supply and retropie 4.6 from one of the pre built images on the retropie site. Every time I boot into retropie the dialog box asking to configure the controller pops up, despite having successfully configured it in the past. It detects that the controller is plugged in but doesn’t take any input from the controller to move past the controller configuration, leaving me stuck and unable to use retropie. The controller is a PlayStation hyperkin brave knight controller. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this?

Normally EmulationStation will show the input configuration dialog when it doesn't have any configured controllers. When you say you configured it in the paste, it was the same Hyperkin controller ? I see it's compatible with PS3/PC/Mac, maybe it has a switch for different connection modes - maybe you accidentally switched to the PS3/Mac connection mode and that's why it's not recognized ?

It is the same controller, I haven’t even plugged a keyboard into the pi yet (don’t have a usb one) so the controller is the only thing I’ve plugged into it so far. When I glanced through the documentation for the controller I didn’t see anything about a switch for different systems, and I haven’t heard about anything like that for other controllers.

Do you have a link to the doc/support page for the controller ?

I haven’t been able to find it online, all I have is the user manual that came with it (though I’ll have to find it again)
