Analog joystick not working with retropie 4.7
-
I am trying to set up a Bluetooth 8bitdo sf30 pro controller in retropie 4.7 on a raspberry pi 4. For some reason the analog stick will not work in quite a few of the emulators, only the direction pad. I have tried enabling this through the input section of retroarch port 1 user binds by selecting retropad w/analog stick but this hasn't fixed the issue.

Please add some info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. There's no 4.7 version of RetroPie yet.
Which system/emulator ? Not all emulated systems use an analog stick, so the emulator might not use it or ignore it.

Apologies, the version is 4.6 on a raspberry pi 4 4gb and its not working with several emulators that it would normally work with such as the following:
PSP- ppsspp emulator
Family Computer Disk System
Game Gear - lr-genesis-plusgx
Gameboy -lrgamebatteI have noticed also that the Nintendo 64 emulator that was running fairly smoothly is now running very slow and jerky (the analog stick works).
Also can you tell me what the best emulator in retropie is for intellivision roms as it doesn't appear that freeintv is supported anymore.

Where's the rest of the info ?
PSP- ppsspp emulator
This is not a libretro emulator, but you can re-configure the bindings in the in-game configuration menu (ESC opens it).
Family Computer Disk System
Game Gear - lr-genesis-plusgx
Gameboy -lrgamebatteNone of these systems had an analog joystick, so I think it's normal that the analog joystick doesn't work.

Which emulator ? There are several emulators for N64 emulation.

https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Intellivision/. Both emulators are supported on a PI4.

Psp is normal , is a emulator non libreretro.
To libreretro emulators

Retropie setup:
Configuration tools
Configedit
Configure Basic libretro ..
Configure default options for all libretro emulators
Player 1 - use analogue stick as d-pad (1 - left-stick) -
The PSP emulator was having similar problems to the other emulators listed in that I couldn't get the analog sticck working. I think also that the dpad may not have been working properly either.
I tried several of the N64 emulators available. All of them were very slow and jerky. The emulators were:
mupen64plus2rice(may not be the exact right name)
lr-mupen64plus
mupen64plus-next.
There were other emulators but they were all variants of the mupen64plus name.I tried using the esc key to access the configuration and binding settings but all it did when pressing the keyboard was to exit the game back to the game selection screen.
I found freeintv and that works much better than the other intellivision emulator.
