So when I switch an sd card for more storage or something, will the saves be transfered? If not, is there a way I can transfer them or back retropie up? Can someone please help me.

@omission229 if you make a duplicate image of your card and then write that to your new, larger card then yes, everything will be where it was on the original card. You would just have to expand the file system to fill out the additional space on the new card.

Check out this for making a backup. There are four options for different use cases. If you also want to start with a clean image of Retropie (version 4.7 was just released) you should start with option 2. Then write a freshly downloaded image to your new card and move over the backed up files. If you have any custom splashscreens you'll also want to back those up along with roms, configs, etc.
