Retropie configuration not working on EmulationStation and Atari 5200 games not working after update
-
@Unnamedium No, why ?
-
@mitu I thought I had pushed your patience too far by taking months to reply, but never mind that.
So, any solutions or do I wait for someone else who can help?
-
Let's take it one by one. Do you have a 4k TV ? We've seen issues with the RetroPie setup displaying correctly on the 4k resolution. If you run
tvservice -s
from a SSH session, it should report what resolution is currently used. -
No, my TV is just 1360x768.
-
Can you post the
cmdline.txt
andconfig.txt
files from your Boot partition ? They should be visible when you insert the sdcard on your PC, or you can copy them from your RetroPie system (they're in the/boot
folder).Can you also try and get a verbose log from the emulator when you run an Atari 5200 game and you get an error. Get the
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
after you run the game and post the contents on pastebin.com. -
cmdline:
dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=serial0,115200 console=tty1 root=PARTUUID=6397c987-02 rootfstype=ext4 elevator=deadline fsck.repair=yes rootwait loglevel=3 consoleblank=0 plymouth.enable=0config:
https://pastebin.com/PqbZpd3sI can't access runcommand from the pi so I don't think I can launch with verbose logging.
-
There's nothing unusual in the
config.txt
- apart from the options configuring the video resolution. Is the system installed from an earlier image (4.4, 4.5) ? Judging by the contents of the configuration file, it doesn't look like it's a 4.6 image.It seems that the anything related to text output started from EmulationStation is not displaying anything - that's why ZMachine is not working (it's a text based emulator), also anything using
dialog
(like the runcommand launch menu or the RetroPie-Setup scripts).Is there anything you configured before/after the upgrade from the efault - the
autostart.sh
file, login settings ? -
I did install it from an earlier image, though I don't remember which one exactly.
I'm pretty sure I reconfigured the system it so I wouldn't have to type in the username and password every time I booted.
-
Do you think reinstalling the newest image on the SD card would solve this?
-
@Unnamedium You can the latest image, just back-up your existing image and/or ROM folders just in-case.
