Lr-mame 20xy and handheld games

These work in lr-mame as well for the most part. lr-mess/lr-mame is up to v0.225 right now.

Another question, who adds the systems in the generic Retropie theme "carbon"?
Anyone can submit a PR to the Carbon theme Github repository - https://github.com/RetroPie/es-theme-carbon. For scraping, support has to be added to either the EmulationStation scraper (must be supported by the scraping source) or one of the external scrapers (Skyscraper, Selph's Scraper).

zudugo ---------> The game Super Fight 1 is a strange clone or counterfeit of Contra
It's also the very first game on ablmini. Pretty interesting clone or hack. Keep up the good work, you're giving me a lot more stuff to add to my RetroPie and I love it.
@zerojay Watch Mario10 on sy889 (game 5). This is one of the weirdest version I've seen. It's a Hack of Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu with Mario.

I am working to create my own XMLs for all these systems (including All in one Handheld and Plug & Play). I am not an expert in .png artwork but I put transparent backgrounds and I think it's a good B Plan for now for All in One Handheld and Plug & Play . I built XMLs with informations from Fandom and video packs, logos packs and console packs from emumovies.com or Google for the other systems.
Ex: Konami Handheld
https://emumovies.com/files/file/4213-konami-handheld-electronic-units-pack/
https://emumovies.com/files/file/4221-konami-handheld-electronics-video-snaps-pack/
https://emumovies.com/files/file/4217-konami-handheld-electronics-game-logos-pack/
Description example: https://contra.fandom.com/wiki/Contra_(LCD_game)
MAME artwork (Konami Handheld, Game&Watch, Tiger Handheld and more...)When It'll done, I'll put all this on the net for 30 days (Google drive) with my modified Cygnus themes which has around 100 systems and the scrapes I made for systems not covered by Screenscraper and others. I have built .XMLs for a lot of systems in Lr-Mess like Gamate or GameMaster.

Very, very interested in all this. Let us know as soon as it's ready.

I still have a lot of work to do on that. Maybe in a month.

@DTEAM Hi DTEAM. I'm struggling a bit getting any of these handhelds to run in lr-mame or standalone mame. I read through this entire post and I'm still not "getting it".
Would it be possible for you to document a walkthrough for dummies (i.e. me) of the process you did to get it running? Folders, config changes, file and config locations, runcommand, etc? I think I just need a few short paragraphs to get me over the finish line...

I installed lr-mame (0.225) over the weekend and it's like 0.224. It just works for arcade games. Is there anything special that needs to be done to make this work with lr-mame 0.225 (from source).
Currently, only mame standalone works for me.

Absolutely nothing. Both lr-mame and lr-mess work for everything here for me. I didn't do anything special but compile and install them.

@zerojay
Lr-mess is fine but not lr-mame (arcade games only) . I’ll dig It tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up -

It's done. Here's my Christmas gift for Lr-Mess and MAME. It took me a lot of time but It's done. Like I said, I'm not an artist but It's a good B plan for systems not supported by ScreenScraper or others.
You will found:
- Cygnusmodified (highly modified) : 155 systems (for 5 inch LCD screen) Hope It's good for a regular TV.
- MAME Artwork for Handheld Systems
- XML files and "Scrapes" for unsupported systems by Screenscraper or others
- config folder with lauching pictures
- es_systems.cfg
- platforms.cfg
- retroarch-core-options.cfg
Fore MAME systems, use the gamelists from Tutorial: Handheld and Plug & Play systems with MAME
You can redump this folder or distribute some parts of It if you want.
People can add my theme on GitHub if they want. It's there to share.
I hope It's usefull for Retropie community. regards

Very nice ! I moved your Tutorial topic to 'Ideas & Developments', I think it's a better place.

I added 6 new all_in1 plug & play consoles runned by xavix.cpp driver. They need frameskip = auto. With that, they run well. The list is in "Tutorial: Handheld and Plug & Play systems with MAME" is updated with those six consoles.
