      So previously I'd been using one of those custom RetroPie images and like most people, became frustrated with all of the extra garbage the creator added, plus I had an issue with wpa_supplicant and couldn't reach my Pi wirelessly, so I wiped the Pi and started from scratch.

      I reinstalled RetroPie using the official image, on a Pi4. With my previous setup, regardless of what (crappy) image I was using, I had all of my ROMs on a USB drive and they were working perfectly. At least the ROMs that are supported by the emus, anyway. So to be clear, my ROM files have not changed.

      When I got up and running, I installed lr-flycast, as I seem to remember it had better results for me. Now none of my Atomiswave, Naomi or Dreamcast games will work. I've followed the guide for adding a system to es_systems.cfg, and I've even gone in and edited emulators.cfg for each of the 3 systems. Sadly, nothing seems to work for me in Flycast or Reicast. I definitely have my ROM and BIOS files in the right place, the .vmu files for DC games are there, etc. I know I have to have missed something, but I can't seem to find what. Here are the 3 systems in es_systems.cfg. To clarify it's just a screenshot of the sections that I added, so there aren't any missing tags in es_systems.

      Also, my emulators.cfg for all 3 systems looks like this, save for the highlighted portion. Each emulators.cfg has it's respective name there. I just screenshotted my Naomi one.

        There are a few - glaring - errors in your configurations:

        • there is no /opt/openarena folder in a RetroPie installation, so your emulators.cfg files are wrong. You copied that from your previous installation, it's not compatible to the RetroPie installation, no wonder they don't work.
        • Reicast doesn't support Naomi/Atomiswave ROMs and there is no lr-reicast in RetroPie (it's the former name for lr-flycast).

        If you have created custom folder for Naomi/Atomiswave ROMs, then you should install lr-flycast and then copy the emulators.cfg, from the dreamcast system to your new system configuration. Make sure you have a corresponding retroarch.cfg in each config folder, containing

        input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/<FOLDER>/"

        #include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg"

          Gotcha. That's essentially what I did, since I have my ROMs on a USB drive, I just copied those cfg files. I didnt realize the dingus that had created that previous installation changed the directory structure (yet another plus to abandoning it).

          Well I'm on the right path now (get it?) to fix it. Thanks for the help, yet again.
