Can I use both micro SD and SSD as storage?
-
Hello! I'm trying to build a robust retro console with this:
-
Nespi 4 case
-
256 Gb micro SD
-
256Gb prebuild retropie image
-
Raspberry pi 4 B 8Gb
-
SSD (I don't have any yet).
So I'd like to run the image from the micro SD and after testing it, see what games or systems I could add to the SSD along with maybe retro game relatated music, videos and movies. How can I use the SSD as extended storage? Thanks in advance for the help and tips :)

@solidhyunkel I run an external SSD on both my cocktail and my console pis. Just use a symbolic link to point to the external drive from wherever (console for instance has psx roms on external, so the ~/Retropie/roms/psx directory is actually a symbolic link to a psx dir on the external drive.
As to how to use a SSD, just plug it into the usb port. =D I would get a powered one or a hub if not powered so as not to steal power from the pi.

@solidhyunkel Hello and welcome to this forum.
See Running ROMs from a USB drive for detailed instructions about that.
