lr-beetle-psx, how do I get this to work correctly?

I have my old gaming pc set up with Ubuntu 20.04 and retropie 4.7.1
AMD Phenom ii 965 3.4ghz
8Ghz ram
Nvidia 760
Using Proprietary Nvidia DriversThe audio has static and the video is choppy.
I turned off Vsync in the core menu but it only seems to help for the first few seconds it starts up then I get the audio video issues again. Is this not enough PC for this emulator?
