      @mozvillat said in [solved] lr-beetle-psx:

Only the slow CD image (i think it's because i launc it from an external USB drive ???)

Shouldn't be slower than a PS1 cd-drive :). Use a .chd and maybe turn on pre-caching (should be in the core options).

I did the reinstall. Convincing myself to actually do it was harder than the reinstall itself.

Now I got a completely functional and updated 64bit system. PSX roms run perfect.

Thanks for everything, I hope this can be helpful for someone.
      Cheers

@JustNiko02 Run glxinfo from a terminal and check the version reported by the program. See https://askubuntu.com/questions/47062/what-is-terminal-command-that-can-show-opengl-version.

[libretro ERROR] Error opening file: /home/thorsten/RetroPie/roms/psx/Destruction Derby Raw (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It)/Destruction Derby Raw (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) (Track 01).bin No such file or directory

it sounds to me like the .cue is bad and points to a file that doesn't exist. you could either acquire a different rip or attempt to create a new .cue (see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#bin-only-roms)

To reply to my own post with more info...I believe this to be a bug with the Mednafen core and/or Retroarch. Possibly moreso Retroarch

Using the Vulkan renderer worked great for a while then all the sudden mid game my battle swirl went away and all i get now is a black screen with this as well. Same with the GL renderer as mentioned before if this is what you're reading. I replicated the same scenario with another device as well...

The swirls work fine initially then stopped working entirely for some unknown cause however i was reading this issue which had a very valid workaround:
      Github-beetle

If on both OpenGL and Vulkan you want your battle swirlies and they just stopped working start the game, toggle ANY option on and off in Retroarch then resume the game and everything is fine. I cant believe i had not even tried that even by accident...

Edit: I ended up recording a video of this along with what actually works as a fix. Keep in mind there are NO core overrides and this is with stock retroarch settings which use OpenGL.

@Parabolaralus Are you using the prioprietary Nvidia drivers or the nouveau (open-source) driver ? What video driver are you using in RetroArch ?

@steptoe Started out with my old work laptop that had a Linux on it, installed Retropie just to tinker around and ended up with an arcade machine build around it :-) Since I had most components laying around, the cost was around 100 euro...well worth the price!

With default = "lr-pcsx-rearmed" I get a weak rumble in Tekken 3 (when enabled in in-game-options) and CTR. But it is way less prevalent than expected.

It seems that rumble was added in a git-commit, but the wiki is not completely up-to date.

I would still like to get rumble like to work with lr-beetle-psx .
