      I normally have a policy of trying to get neck deep into something before asking newbie questions.
      As I am total new to retroPie and PI I want to ask one question before I begin my journey......

      Does the amount of memory matter for running retroPie on a pi4?
      I suppose the answer depends on what emulators i want to run and that is TBC.....but the starting point will be to build an Arcade Machine running MAME.....

      before investing in my first pi, curious to understanding peoples experience with the memory (2, 4 or 8GB options)

        @keeks The people round here normally say more than 2GB isn't useful, and other variations of those words :)

        For example: this thread

          @busywait Perfect...thanks

          I should have searched for RAM rather than Memory :)

            :)

            I run a Pi4 4GB behind my TV set. Sometimes I start the Pi Desktop and more RAM might help in that situation. (Browser with too many tabs, ... ?) But if you're sticking to just game emulation, sounds like you can save a little money \o/

            Spending the saved cash on a good heatsink case (or case heatsink) would be sensible to stop the Pi getting too hot, and allowing more aggressive overclocking.
