Pi 400 GPU overclocking - does this look right?
-
Hi
I've bought the Raspberry Pi 400, and I'm hoping to play Dreamcast games on it.
From what I have read when searching, the Pi 400 can take some overclocking without problems, and I suspect that it would be beneficial to overclock it to make Dreamcast games run a little better/smoother.
If I understand it correctly, it is the GPU overclock that it mostly important here. And I have trouble finding details about that - I mostly find guides on overclocking the CPU.
What overclock settings would you recommend for my Pi 400? Does something like this look right?:
over_voltage=6
arm_freq=2000
gpu_freq=650If it matters, my power supply is the Argon ONE Raspberry Pi 4 power supply, 18 Watt, 5.25 Volt, 3.5 Amp.
I'm looking for a stable, safe overclock, more than the absolute max. I've never overclocked before, so I'm a bit out of my element here, and not sure I'm understanding it all correctly - and a bit afraid to do something wrong.
Any help is appreciated :-)

You really can't go wrong.
I tested 3 Pi400's overclocked with:
over_voltage=8
arm_freq=2147
gpu_freq=750all to them are stable.
Take it to the (almost) max.

@mth75 Thanks, that looks pretty high. But great if that isn't a problem. So I won't be pushing the Pi 400 too much with your settings? I'm new to this, as I said, so I want it to be "safe" and be able to run from now on and years to come, hopefully :-)

Almost . But the Pi400 remains stable and stays cool enough.

@steffenbrauner
Hmm.. Im not entire sure here but Isnt GPU speed 700 @ standard?.. you're underclocking GPU with gpu_freq=650?!
GPU: Broadcom VideoCore VI @ 700 MHz -
@webbsmurfen On the PI4, the GPU core freq is
500
, not 700. You're confusing it with other value. See https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/config_txt.html#overclocking
