Pi3b, Retropie 4.7.1, official power supply
Hi everyone,
While trying to install the Intellivision emulator jzintv I've been given the following error message:
failed signature check
gpg: Fatal: can't create directory '/root/.gnupg': No such file or directoryIt's got me stumped. Anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance

How are you trying to install the emulator ? Does it happen for other packages also ?
-
@djmoss did you remove
/root
folder? (This is not a request to do it, but to ask if you have done already as that could be the cause). -
@mitu I am installing from source using the Retropie setup menu.
Another strange curiosity is that I can no longer save my arcade gamelist.xml file which I have been working on. Not sure if it's connected.
-
@buzz I've located the /root folder in the /etc folder. Is this the correct place for it?
And it does contain the /.gnupg folder.I'm wondering if I've moved it accidentally in one of my late-night-really-should-be-in-bed moments
-
@djmoss no. It should be in the root of the filesystem. Top level.
/root
Sounds like you have moved it somehow.
-
Yep, that fixed it, just needed to but the folder back in its proper place.
Thanks guys, as always, for your kind help. There's a lesson here, kids: Don't give yourself root permission after midnight!
-
@djmoss haha. Happens to us all - I often leave files lying around called username@server when I fail to use
scp
correctly (missing : on the end).Finding the root folder in /etc is a nice festive surprise :-)
