Switched off during update. Now can't access terminal
-
Hello, I think the journey with my Pi4 ends here :( I was doing an update and my son switched the Pi4 off. Now nothing is working... I can't even access the terminal.
-
If the update was interrupted while the kernel/firmware was updated, it's going to be difficult to recover without an additional Linux installation. The simplest option would be to re-flash the RetroPie image again on the sdcard and start over.

@mitu Thanks for the reply. At this stage I don't mind starting over and restore the Pi4 to its original state. But if possible I would need some help.
-
@donkeykong17 we have documentation for exactly this available here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/
-
@dankcushions Thanks for the reply. Would this also fix my problem with the Raspberry Pi OS?
-
@donkeykong17 Which problem ?
-
@mitu It's seems like the OS of the raspberry Pi is now corrupted as I can't even enter the terminal when switching on the Pi without an SD card. So basically I need to restore the Pi4 to its original state somehow.

I suggested you to reinstall. This will erase everything you had on the sdcard - including your OS which doesn't boot right now - so yes, you could say it will solve your problem.

@mitu Thanks a lot for your help.
