What files are needed for Descent 1 and 2 with dxx-rebirth retropie

This info is right out of the d1xinstall.txt and d2xinstall.txt which is buried in the opt/retropie/ports/dxx-rebirth folder (except the file sizes). I noted the file sizes from d1x because the file names are the same but the files sizes that come preinstalled when you install this on the pi are much smaller and are shareware.

I couldnt find any other info (other than where the "core game files" go) on the internet about it when trying to add these games to retropie. Without the instructions from either these text files that are buried on the pi you cannot find the info unless you download the windows version or dxx-rebirth and it is said to be found there also. to save time and headache I posted this as i believe it would help people like me that dont know exactly what the core games files are just from looking at a folder of the game from old dos days or a gog install directory.

The following files are needed to run Descent 1:
descent.hog 6.6mb for commercial version
descent.pig 4.8mb for commercial version

Create folder missions under roms/ports/descent and put these files in there:
chaos.hog for Multiplayer levelset Total Chaos
chaos.msn for Multiplayer levelset Total Chaos

The following files are needed to run Descent 2:
put in folder rom/ports/descent2
descent2.ham
descent2.hog
descent2.s11
descent2.s22
alien1.pig
alien2.pig
fire.pig
groupa.pig
ice.pig
water.pig
intro-h.mvl and/or intro-l.mvl
other-h.mvl and/or other-l.mvl
robots-h.mvl and/or robots-l.mvl

@polygaryd Thanks for the info! You might also want to add that demos go into "/opt/retropie/configs/ports/descent*/demos". So if you want the original prerecorded demo(s) ported as well, you should copy them to this directory.
