Video settings suggestions
-
So i would like to make the games look as good as i am able. I am using a pi4 8gb model. I am running everything with the basic lr emulators. NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, Sega CD, SMS, Sega Mega Drive, Playstation, PSP.
I am running everything in 1080 60hz on a 4k television. There are a lot of settings within retroarch itself. I am just not really sure what i could or should use as far as settings. Just wondering if i am missing anything. I know with PSP performance will vary by game.
General suggestions are fine, i know everyone's setup is different.

I am using 720p resolution with video smoothing enabled. For some games i have it disable and i am using crt-pi shader instead.

Video smoothing often makes the picture way too mushy for my taste, especially if the original resolution is very low. I prefer good crt shaders like the zfast shaders from @ghogan42.
As for other video settings, I prefer the "core provided" aspect ratio, because I don't like, say, a 4:3 picture stretched to today's common 16:9, or the 3:4 ratio of many classic vertical games stretched to the native 4:3 on my DIY cabinet, making all game characters appear a little overweight to outright obese.
