RetroPie won't boot. Nothing showing up on monitor

How to replicate the problem: -The power supply I'm using is a 2.5A one which I got from a kit so the power isn't the problem. I was using a 128gb (it was on sale for £15) SD card yesterday and it was working fine, now today I turn it on and it won't boot, and I shut it down correctly.
I tried putting the image on my 8GB sd card and it also hasn't worked... The image i'm using isn't the unzipped one which was alot of other peoples problems.
The red LED is on and the green LED is blinking. This is the case for both SD cards. On my monitor it just says check signal cable, so nothing is appearing. Also, last night I was using my TV and not my monitor, but I tried it on my TV again and it didn't make any difference. Any ideas? Thanks

Assuming you are using one, have you tried using a different HDMI cable or using the one you have on something else to check that it didn't get damaged somehow?
If you wait the normal amount of time it would take to boot into emulation station, can you hear the click noise when switching through emulators/roms (if you have it set to the 3.5mm jack)?
I sometimes have an issue with my HDMI cord unplugging slightly, which causes me to lose video on my monitor.

@lorc34 with an sd card that cheap for the memory I'm doubtful of the legitimacy of it. May want to try with another sd card to see if that's the issue. I have a bunch of small ones I use for testing just in case one of mine fails
