How Do I combine The Resident Evil 2 discs?
-
So I'm a big fan of the Resident Evil series, and the only game I'm missing is Resident Evil 2 because I've been trying to get it all in one disc. I know how to combine discs with PSX2PSP but my Resident evil 2 discs come with 2 bin files, and PSX2PSP only supports one per disc. Am I doing something wrong or did I just get the wrong copies of Resident Evil 2?

You can simply swap discs in the menu instead of hassling yourself with eboot conversion. RE2 is a two-disc game, hence the two .bin files. I've played through PE, both discs, with no problems.

@Marty-Mcfly In the retropie Docs there's a guide for multi disc games and .m3u files. This helps to clean up your gamelist from "disc 1,disc 2,..." and makes them just one entry without need of conversions.

@TheBattleMaster does it work for dreamcast too?

@Rubicai
According to this thread its possible. -
Technically, Resident Evil 2 is not a multi disk game.

I ended up just using cdmage to combine the bin files and that worked perfectly. Thanks for the help.

@thebattlemaster - Whilst it works in hiding the files, they (.m3u) don't launch (launches to BIOS) so pretty useless.
.m3u method works for PSX but not for Sega Dreamcast or CD. They aren't really/technically multi-disk, Resident Evil2 for example can be started from either disk as Leon/Claire separately i think and PSX cant do memory saves between disks so needs .m3u -
I use .PBP format, which compress the multidisc file. You can swap discs by using emulation station menus :-)
