I've noticed that whenever I use the grid view in any theme (including Carbon, ComicBook, any/all), the grid view displays my screenshots but plays the videos of the game in the background (IE: I can hear the audio of the video gameplay I'd normal use in video view, but while displaying the screenshot still image in grid view). Is this normal behavior? I feel like that shouldn't be there, and I don't remember it being like this in previous retropie images. Or am I wrong on that?

Am I the only one having this issue? Or is it something inherent in the grid view? If I removed the videos from the video folder, I assume that would fix it. But would rather keep them for switching between views if I choose.

I don't think the grid view is so much used - are you using the default Carbon theme with it ?

Yup, tried it in multiple themes and it's all the same. If this is just a glitch in the grid design (and everyone has to deal with it until the devs decide to fix it), then I'm fine not using it. Just didn't know if this was a "me" thing.

Have you tried using the dev branch of EmulationStation ? You can install the emulationstation-dev package from the experimental section and it will pull that version, instead of the stable one.

So you're saying to try that to see if they have fixed it? Or they have, and it's just not an official release yet?

                  UPDATE:

So I finally was able to circle back on this and test it. I can confirm that installing emulationstation-dev did do the trick with the audio glitch in the grid view. However, I'm a little concerned I might introduce instability or unintended consequences by not using the "official" stable one. Is that a legit concern? Could issues arise by using the dev version as my regular one, or would I benefit from more improvements (even though it's not fully released yet)?
