How do you sort roms by system?
-
Hi there,
I have a lot of roms, many of which are not sorted properly. For instance, many games are sorted by emulator (like FBA), where it should be Neo Geo, CPS1 2 and 3 as RetroPie needs a folder structure sorted by system (and I like to browse by sytem, not by emulator). So, do you have a tip how to reorder roms into folders based on the sytem?
Thank you,

there is a neogeo folder. put games in that if you want to split it out.
for cps1/2 etc - you could set that up fiddling with emulationstation es_system.cfg i guess. alternatively you could create sub folders inside the arcade/fba/mame directory

Ok I found a way to do it: I use RomCenter and create a new database. Apart from DAT files for emulators, RomCenter comes with DAT files for specific systems, like CPS1 etc. I add the folder containing all my asorted roms. RomCenter will only show me the (working) roms for the system I set up the database for. I can then select all roms right-click and choose to copy them to a new folder, which is then my clean, sorted folder for that system.
@dankcushions my problem was to select and split roms into different folders for different systems (automatically).
