[Forum-only solvable upstream] Some humble suggestions for the flagging dialog
-
Howdy,
sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, it seemed the most appropriate to me. 😇I flagged a user today, and because I do that very rarely, the flagging dialog was very unfamiliar to me. In particular, I failed to recognise that I had to select "Other" to make the comment field editable, so I ended up wrongly selecting "Spam" which closed the dialog immediately. I couldn't correct this error by editing my report or opening a new one, since the forum only allows one open report per post or user.
Thus, I want to humbly suggest some improvements:
- Make the comment box editable from the start regardless of the selected reason. Apart from avoiding the confusion described above, this would allow us to comment a Spam or Offensive report.
- Don't close the dialog immediately after selecting Spam or Offensive, to allow us to correct an erroneous selection.
- Allow us to edit or even retract our reports, being the fallible beings that we are. 🥴
Thanks for your attention.
Cheers
Clydeedit: Added "only solvable upstream" to title.

@clyde Thanks. We can't really change any forum core behaviour so if you think something should be improved you will need to report this upstream to the nodebb project. https://community.nodebb.org/

@clyde BTW I have banned the user in question and restored all posts.

@buzz thanks, i noticed allot of helpful threads where all of the sudden useless or non sensical cause of that, glad to see things like this can be undone.
Very odd behavior to say the least. -

Thanks, I'll look into that. And thanks for the restoration.
